Remote development that stays up

Devbox gives each developer one persistent Linux machine. Your checkout, terminals, services, and agent sessions live on that machine — always the same host, always the same state.

Use the dt CLI from your laptop or from agents running inside the machine. Open the dashboard for machines, services, mail, observability, and shared files.

How it works

Devbox is the control plane for your retained machine. Wake it, open a shell, manage services, and drive agent sessions without spinning up disposable environments.

From a laptop, dt talks to the API. From inside the machine, it uses the workspace credentials. Agents use the same commands with--json. Compose runs apps, and T3 Code manages agents.

dt list
dt status --environment affinity
dt ssh affinity
dt exec affinity -- git status --short
dt services list --environment affinity
dt services logs api --follow
dt agents --environment affinity --json
dt auth login
dt services restart api --environment affinity
dt mail list --environment affinity --json
dt mail read MESSAGE_ID --environment affinity --json

For agents

Agents running on a Devbox machine inherit the workspace. Use the CLI for exec, services, development sign-in, and mail. T3 Code owns delegated agent tasks.

  • * List agent threads with dt agents --json
  • * Run commands on the machine with dt exec
  • * Open an authenticated app session with dt auth use
  • * Share files via temporary /assets/<id> links (video, image, audio, text)
dt agents --environment affinity --json
dt exec affinity -- git status --short
dt auth use --environment affinity --account owner-affinity --path /pricing
